Ronnie Truss | Co-founder

Ronnie himself will admit that he tended to be in and out of scuffles at school. But an interest in food led to his early career as a chef which appealed because he didn't know anyone else who did it. Eventually joining the brigade at Claridges, he stood out in the brigade of 50 or 60 as both a character, and as a precocious networker with big potential.

Further cooking roles eventually gave way to entrepreneurship when he took the opportunity to join a former Claridges colleague in co-founding Cutty, the fresh fish supplier to top restaurants and hotels.

Very quickly, they found success with an eye for detail and a relentless focus on looking after their customers. From a £400 start-up loan in 1985, they grew the enterprise to £25Mil annual turnover supplying 350 or so business clients by 1999.

Roni Truss | Admin Support Manager

Growing up in an entrepreneurial environment, Roni worked in the family restaurant in between going to school and studying.

Her sense of hospitality and looking after others took her into her early career as a professional Carer where Roni spent seven years looking after senior and dementia patients.

As Chefs Eye grew, Roni got involved in some of the client meetings which she enjoyed, and eventually join to the team where her customer focus has been a great asset in co-ordinating client and team meetings and support.

In her free time, Roni loves to keep fit with aerobics and walking her dogs Ted, Dee and Olly.
