Ronnie himself will admit that he tended to be in and out of scuffles at school. But an interest in food led to his early career as a chef which appealed because he didn't know anyone else who did it. Eventually joining the brigade at Claridges, he stood out in the brigade of 50 or 60 chefs as both a character, and a precocious networker with big potential.

Further cooking roles eventually gave way to entrepreneurship when he took the opportunity to join a former Claridges colleague in co-founding Cutty, the fresh fish supplier to top restaurants and hotels.

Very quickly, they found success with an eye for detail and a relentless focus on looking after their customers. From a £400 start-up loan in 1985, they grew the enterprise to £25Mil annual turnover supplying 350 or so business clients by 1999.

Ronnie fondness for food and hospitality led to further investments with the launch of a number of high-profile restaurants including Bank and Fish! which quickly gained traction in a very competitive market at the time.

While reviewing the operation at another restaurant venture, Ronnie queried the high rate of food cost with the Head chef. This curiosity eventually led to co-founding Chefs Eye Tech with is son Daniel.

A keen footballer in his younger days, Ronnie continues to enjoy working out in his gym while keeping in touch with his extensive network of friends, colleagues and clients he has worked with over the years.
