Chefs Eye Tech is on a mission to empower chefs to waste less food.
To get involved in the wider movement here are a selection of links to organisations like the FAO, WRAP, the SRA and Friends of the Earth who are working towards a reduction in global food waste.
United Nations FAO
Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations
World Hunger is on the rise; yet, an estimated 1/3 of all food produced globally is lost or goes to waste.
We all have a part to play in reducing food loss and waste, not only for the sake of the food but for the resources that go into it.
FAO is partnering with governments, international organizations, the private sector and civil society to raise awareness on the issues and to implement actions to address the root of the problem.
FAO is also working with governments to develop policies to reduce food loss and waste.
WRAP (The Waste and Resources Action Programme)
WRAP is working with organisations in the food and drink industry to create economic and environmental value from reducing food waste and tackling issues around water scarcity across the supply chain.
By working with WRAP your organisation can improve processes, find new techniques and implement best practice in your supply chain.
Zero Waste Scotland
Zero Waste Scotland exists to lead Scotland to use products and resources responsibly, focusing on where they can have the greatest impact on climate change.
Using evidence and insight, their goal is to inform policy, and motivate individuals and businesses to embrace the environmental, economic, and social benefits of a circular economy.
They are a not-for-profit environmental organisation, funded by the Scottish Government and European Regional Development Fund.
SRA (Sustainable Restaurant Association)
To accelerate change towards an environmentally restorative and socially progressive UK hospitality sector, the SRA works with businesses from across the foodservice sector as well as like-minded industry bodies, campaign groups and businesses that supply the sector.
As this intersection between foodservice and the sustainable food movement, the SRA can define sustainability for the sector, assess, measure, campaign for and celebrate change.
